Cocking Trail Races : South Downs trail event

The Cocking Trail Races are a set of trail races based at the Cadence Cycle Club Café on Cocking Hilltop, GU29 0HT, one mile south of the village of Cocking where the South Downs Way crosses the A286. The event runs through the South Downs and West Dean Estate, with initial climbs across the Cowdray Estate and sections on footpaths, bridleways and short quiet country lanes.

The route is signed and marshalled throughout. Water stations are provided, with one on the 10 km route at about 4 km and an additional stop on the 20 km route at about 12 km. The 20 km course passes The Devil's Jumps Bronze Age site and the route also passes the derelict medieval village site of West Monkton. Timing is by chip and finishers receive a medal. Podium and age category prizes are awarded for senior and junior races. Facilities include toilets, on site parking, bike parking and race village refreshments.

Entries are online only and entries are limited to 350 runners. All adult entrants must be at least 16 years old. Canicross is not permitted and dogs are not allowed on the course. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
