Cocking Trail Races : South Downs trail races

The Cocking Trail Races are a set of trail events organised by Midhurst Milers around Cocking Hilltop in the South Downs. The programme includes senior races and junior races on predominantly footpaths and bridleways, with a few short sections on quiet country lanes. The route climbs across the Cowdray Estate, passes onto the South Downs and West Dean Estate, and offers views across the South Downs and toward the South Coast and Isle of Wight. The 20 km route also passes the Devil's Jumps and the derelict site of West Monkton.

Practical details supplied by the organiser include on-course marshals and signage, chip timing, water stations (one at ~4 km for the 10 km and an additional stop at ~12 km for the 20 km), finisher medals, prizes and age-category awards, toilets, on-site parking and bike parking, and race village refreshments. The event is licensed by the Trail Running Association and held under UK Athletics rules. Entries are limited to 350 runners, adult entrants must be at least 16 years old, entries are online only, and canicross or dogs on course are not permitted.
