The Middle Path Trail Race takes place at Kawartha Nordic Ski Club, Nordic Ski Lane, North Kawartha, Ontario. The event is part of the Outrace Series and the Athletics Ontario Trillium Running series. The organizing committee aims to provide an accessible race and prioritizes environmental responsibility through green initiatives in partnership with Kawartha Nordic and local sponsors.
Races are held on looped courses at Kawartha Nordic and include an out and back route for children. The 26 km and 52 km events use 13 km laps. The terrain for some distances is described as low elevation; the 5 km cross country route is composed of two winding 2.5 km loops. Aid stations are located along the courses. Ultra participants have access to a transition area for personal fuel and nutrition.
