The event marks its 33rd edition in 2026; the inaugural race took place in 1993. It is held on the privately owned Haliburton Forest and Wild Life Reserve Ltd in Haliburton, Ontario, and runs from September 12, 2026 to September 13, 2026.

Trails are described as rugged and heavily forested, with hilly sections and numerous lakes and streams. Course terrain is primarily natural singletrack and forest paths.

Registration fees shown include mandatory charges and fees. Participants who register by July 20, 2026 are guaranteed event swag such as t-shirts or 100 miler hoodies. The event has a firm no deferral, no cancellation policy; transfers of registration to another person are permitted through the registration platform or by contacting the organizers before registration closes. Exceptions may be made under extenuating circumstances at the event administration's discretion. If the organizer cancels the event, registered participants will be contacted with available options.
