Merrill's Mile, July 10 to 12, 2026

Merrill's Mile takes place at Camp Frank D Merrill in Dahlonega, GA and is organized as timed endurance formats over a July weekend. Available formats include:

  • 48 Hour
  • 24 Hour
  • 12 Hour
  • 6 Hour

The course is a paved asphalt loop approximately one mile per lap. The loop is 12 feet wide and gains about 10 feet of elevation per lap. The course is USA Track & Field certified with one lap equal to 0.9951 miles. Runners change direction every six hours.

A single fully stocked aid station is located at the start and finish area. It offers water, sports drink, pretzels, bananas, oranges, watermelon, peanut butter and jelly, and soft drinks. In past editions other items have included vegan tomato soup, grilled cheese, burritos, potatoes, popsicles, smoothies, pancakes, bacon, and ice to help keep participants cool.

Camping is permitted at the venue beginning the day before the event. Because the event occurs on an active military training site, attendees must complete required gate access steps before arrival; detailed instructions will be provided the week of the event. A pre race letter is planned to be available by the end of June and live tracking will be posted the week of Merrill's Mile. Timing is provided by the event timing team.
