The courses stay together until a split at about 1.35 miles; the 4.0-mile route gains elevation to about the 2.0-mile mark before descending past the "Indian Seats." Terrain includes rolling and steep hills, technical rocky sections, and a mixture of easy and more technical surfaces. A water station is located at approximately 2.3 miles. Awards include medals and prizes for the top three overall male and female finishers in each race, overall masters winners, and top three in each age group; finishers must be present to receive medals. Walkers may participate but must be able to complete the course at a 16-minute-per-mile pace or faster to receive an official time. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
