Mental Health Ultra Marathon
The Mental Health Ultra Marathon is a community running event held in Newnan, GA at 155 Millard Farmer Rd. The event aims to support people affected by mental health challenges and to promote mental well being. Proceeds will be donated to AnotherWay Foundation, Inc. for use within Pathways Center for Mental Health, a behavioral health care organization serving children, adolescents, and adults and addressing mental health and substance abuse issues. Donations may be used to sponsor individual counseling sessions and to provide therapeutic interventions such as art therapy, pet therapy, and horticultural therapy.
The course is a 6-mile loop with about 450 feet of elevation gain per loop on single-track rolling hills; the loop is described as runnable. Runners are asked to carry water and fuel for the 6-mile loop. There will be a fully loaded aid station at the start and finish. Event distances are organized by loop count as follows.
- 50K - five 6-mile loops
- Half Marathon - two 6-mile loops
- 10K - one 6-mile loop
Registration closes October 31 and there is race day registration. The deadline to order shirts is October 31. Coweta County Parks & Rec is involved in supporting the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
