Mendon Mauler Trail Run
The Mendon Mauler Trail Run takes place at Mendon Ponds Park in Honeoye Falls, New York. Based at Stewart Lodge, the event offers two distinct distances for participants:
- 4 Mile
- 8 Mile
The course is designed as a 4-mile loop, meaning those participating in the 8-mile event complete the circuit twice. The route utilizes the North Meadow and East Esker trails, featuring a mix of terrain with an elevation gain of approximately 350 feet per loop. The race is held almost entirely off-road, with the exception of two road crossings.
Participants should prepare for a self-sufficient run as this is a cup-free event with no hydration stations provided on the course. Carrying personal fluids is a requirement. While trail shoes are recommended due to the nature of the terrain, cross spikes are not suggested. The route is marked with pink surveying flags and yellow arrow signs.
The event includes timing and scoring with online results. Registration includes a t-shirt for those signed up by the designated deadline, as well as a post-race cookout and drink. Awards are presented for the 8-mile distance, recognizing the top male and female finishers and winners across various 10-year age groups. No awards are issued for the 4-mile distance.
