The Mendocino Running Festival takes place at Mendocino Woodlands Park, a National Historic Landmark near Little River and the town of Mendocino. The event offers multiple race options and timed formats on a looped trail course through an ancient redwood forest with log bridge crossings and stream crossings. The loop is 6 miles long, mostly single-track, and includes about 875 feet of climb and two aid stations. Final results are posted within seven days after the event; the event uses manual timing.

The festival occupies a private group camp and offers three weekend camping options for two nights: tent cabins (21 units with wooden floors and four cots each), limited space for RVs and tow-behinds (no electrical hookups), and tent/car sites near a creek. Camping fees include parking for one vehicle, access to hot showers/wash houses, The Commons amenities, and complimentary yoga sessions. Weekend Food Passes are sold separately for $50 per person and cover meals from Friday night through Sunday; race-day-only entrants receive one post-race lunch included with registration. Entry fees are non-refundable and non-transferable; deferral to the next year is available outside 30 days, and no refunds or deferrals are allowed within 30 days.
