The Memorial Day 10K Run & 2 Mile Walk takes place on Monday, May 25, 2026, in Lynchburg, Virginia. The event is organized by the Lynchburg Road Runners Club and Type 1 Diabetes Experience and supports local families affected by Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes. It is the 7th race in the 2026 Lynchburg Road Runners Race Series.

Registration and fees

Registration opens December 31, 2025. 10K fees vary by registration period: $30 (Dec 31, 2025 - Feb 28, 2026), $35 (Mar 1 - May 22, 2026), $40 (May 23 - race day). 2 Mile Walk fees are $25 (early) and $30 after March 1, 2026. Assisted participant entries have a $0 option or a $15 shirt option if registered by May 1, 2026. Registration fees are non-transferable and non-refundable. A $5 discount is available for current Lynchburg Road Runners Club members during the discount period.

Course, shirts and awards

The course begins in front of DPO Grille and follows 9th Street to Jefferson Street, then onto the Blackwater Bikeway Trail, through the tunnel, along the Ed Page trail to a turnaround point, and returns to Depot Grille. 10K shirts are moisture-wicking and gender specific; 2 Mile Walk shirts are 100% cotton and unisex. Both shirt types are guaranteed for registrations by May 1, 2026. The 10K is chip timed, awards are given by overall, masters, and age groups, and all 10K finishers receive finisher medals. There are no awards for the 2 Mile Walk.
