Medved Madness Trail Races

Medved Madness takes place on Sunday, May 3, 2026 at Stewart Lodge in Mendon Ponds Park, Honeoye Falls, NY. The event includes two main trail races and a children’s race held on park trails. Distances are estimated and the exact course is set on race day.

Logistics and race features

The Long Course includes an early-start option and one basic aid station located roughly at the 5-6 mile mark; runners are expected to carry hydration and nutrition for the course. Long and Short Course participants receive a gender-specific technical t-shirt. The course layout changes year to year because of trail conditions.

Packet pickup is scheduled the day before at Medved Running & Walking Outfitters (3400 Monroe Avenue) and there is also morning packet pickup on race day. There is no day-of race registration. Post-race food is provided as a barbecue; participants are asked to bring a lawn chair or blanket. Parking is available in the park beach lot or along park roads. Dogs are not permitted on the race course due to park rules and insurance. Awards and a kids bib pickup are part of the event schedule. Mrs. McCormick's Ice House is a winter trail race on Jan 17, 2026 featuring a scenic, roughly 4 mile loop you can repeat for longer distances. Expect snowy trails and post race pancakes, hot drinks and awards at cozy Wilson Lodge.
