McDonough Frontier Trail Race
The event is scheduled for July 25, 2026. It takes place at the McDonough Wildlife Refuge in Vienna, West Virginia. The address is 2196 Rosemar Road.
There are two events:
- McDonough Frontier Trail Race - 8 Mile: A running event.
- McDonough Frontier Trail Race - 4 Mile Walk: A walking event.
Both events follow the same basic 4-mile loop course. This loop goes through forests and past duck marshes. The elevation gain for one loop is up to 430 feet. Runners complete the loop twice for a total distance of approximately 8 miles. Walkers complete one loop.
The race is the second edition of the event. It is part of the River City Runners and Walkers Series for 2026. Completing this and other races in the series can lead to a personalized jacket at the series awards banquet. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
