Mayor's Challenge 5K + 1 Mile Fun Run 2026 - Costume Run
The Mayor's Challenge is the eighth annual community run held at Poricy Park, 345 Oak Hill Road, Red Bank. Proceeds support 180 Turning Lives Around, a Monmouth County nonprofit providing services to people affected by domestic and sexual violence.
The event is a trail run through the woods and includes single track, bridges, and multiple hills. Trails are not paved and the course is not suitable for strollers. Participants may choose between a timed 5K race, a 5K fitness walk, or a family-friendly 1 mile fun run.

This is a costume run with Halloween themes. Prizes are awarded for overall 5K male and female, top finishers by age range male and female, 1 mile fun run top finishers, and best costume categories including group, most unique, and America 250 themed. Additional 5K awards include top three overall prizes: first place receives NJ Devils tickets, second place a hydration backpack, and third place a swag bag. Age ranges for awards include ages 10 and under, 11 to 17, 18 to 49, and 50 and over.
Registration fees are listed for each entry type and registrants receive a long sleeve sports-tek shirt while supplies last. Runners receive a timed bib with a timing chip and a medal. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
