Mahoning Valley Volunteer Fire Co. No. 1 5K and 1 Mile Fun Walk

The event takes place on September 12, 2026 at 2358 Mahoning Drive WEST in Lehighton, Pennsylvania. It offers two 5K options and a community 1 mile walk on courses near local farmlands and state parks.

Two course options are provided. The offroad trail course follows manicured grass, dirt and wooded trails with uphill and downhill sections and paths through corn, hay and Christmas tree farms. The asphalt road course runs on all paved roads to the county line and back, with some elevation changes and a fairly flat stretch near the midway point. Roads will be closed for the event.

Preregistration by September 1 guarantees a T-shirt and a swag bag while supplies last. Entry fee is listed as $25 for preregistration and $30 thereafter, including day of event, with shirts and swag available until sold out. Children 13 and under may enter free or by donation; a kids event gift is provided but not a T-shirt.

The event is paired with a Celebration of Community that includes family activities, country BBQ, cornhole tournament, games, music and a basket raffle. The event is held rain or shine. Chip timing and an on-site photographer are provided. Awards are given immediately for overall male and female winners and male and female age brackets; there are no walk awards.
