Madie's Jaunt

Madie's Jaunt is a memorial trail run held at the Catamount Outdoor Family Center in Williston, Vermont, during the weekend of May 2–5, 2026. The in-person trail run takes place on May 2 on the Catamount trail system and is organized in memory of a UVM student and Army ROTC Cadet who enjoyed climbing, backcountry skiing, and exploring Vermont's natural areas.

The event offers both an on-site trail run and a virtual option. Distances:

  • 3 miles (in-person and virtual)

The event is free of charge. In-person registration opens March 25, 2026 and closes May 2, 2026. Virtual registration opens March 26, 2026 and closes May 4, 2026. The virtual option runs Friday through Sunday of the event weekend; participants may run 3 miles at any point within that window and log their time.

Participants are asked to complete a waiver prior to arrival. Organizers encourage donations to a memorial fund, and there is a T-shirt available through OVIS Apparel with proceeds directed to that fund. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
