Mad Trapper Relentless 50K

The Mad Trapper Relentless 50K takes place at The Ark in Denholm, QC, in the Gatineau Hills north of Ottawa. The distance is recognized on the UTMB Index and officially ITRA recognized, awarding 2 ITRA points to finishers. There are no cutoff times.

The course begins with an 18 km gravel road prologue before three 10.5 km singletrack loops on private forest trails. Terrain includes technical singletrack with rocks, roots, climbs, descents and tight turns, plus a private lake view near each loop summit. Total elevation gain is approximately 1,523 m.

Runners pass through The Ark at roughly 18 km, 29 km and 40 km and the trails are deliberately marked for the event. Registered runners can camp for free at The Ark on race weekend; the rustic wilderness campsite offers flat tenting areas, clean outhouses, a firepit, a picnic table and hauled drinking water. Warm outdoor showers are available for a small fee. The setting is off-grid and quiet, with notable fall colours in the surrounding forest.
