The Relentless Ultra
The event offers multiple trail distances and several are listed on the UTMB Index: the 21k, 30k, 50k and 50mi distances are officially recognized. Runners encounter technically challenging single-track with roots, rocks and sustained climbing, with total elevation gain between 720 m and 1 523 m.
Held in the Gatineau Hills near Denholm, Quebec in October, the course uses repeating loops that give the race its name Relentless. The highest point provides a private lake view followed mostly by downhill running. Entries include aid stations on course, a post race meal and barbecue, hot beverages, a campfire hangout, a finisher medal, a prize ceremony and free parking. There are no official cutoff times, allowing participants to complete the course at their own pace.
