Mad Trapper Relentless - Trail races and 50K ultra at The Ark

Mad Trapper Relentless is a trail and ultra event held at The Ark in Denholm, Quebec, about 40 minutes from Ottawa. The race date is October 3, 2026. Distances range from 3K to 50K, with the 21K, 30K and 50K officially recognized on the UTMB Index.

Course and venue highlights:

• Distances: 3K, 5K, 10K, 21K, 30K, 50K The venue uses a privately maintained 164-acre trail network. Routes feature true singletrack, technical sections with roots and rocks, sustained elevation, and peak fall foliage. Courses are clearly marked. There are no cutoff times.

Format specifics:

• The 10.5 km loop is the primary singletrack used for the 10K, two laps for the 21K, and three laps for the 50K.
• The 30K and 50K begin with an 18 km gravel road prologue before entering the singletrack.
• Reported elevation gains: 21K about 720 m, 30K about 819 m, 50K about 1 523 m.

Support and access: There are no aid stations out in the woods. The 21K and 30K runners pass through The Ark after their first loop and can access personal kit plus the main aid table offering water, a homemade electrolyte drink, and snacks. 50K runners pass through roughly at 18K, 29K and 40K. General prerunning by the public is not permitted; insured guests renting the Cliffside Camp receive a trail map.
