Grit & Grind Trail Race
Grit & Grind Trail Race at Camp Fortune
The Grit & Grind Trail Race takes place at Camp Fortune, located within Gatineau Park in Chelsea, Quebec. The event features a variety of routes through forested terrain characterized by steep climbs, technical descents, and singletrack paths.
Participants can select from several distance options:
- 20 km: A long-distance course consisting of two loops with significant elevation, featuring technical terrain and flowing singletrack. This distance is a UTMB Index Race.
- 10 km: A route that combines rolling climbs, punchy descents, and a mix of technical and runnable stretches.
- 5 km: A shorter, high-intensity trail featuring quick climbs and sharp turns.
- 2 km: A kids race (ages 7-12) utilizing wider trails and gentle hills.
Registration includes professional chip timing, a personalized race bib, a commemorative medal, and post-race snacks and beverages. A "Green Bib" option is available, allowing runners to decline the medal in favor of a donation to Ottawa Volunteer Search and Rescue (SBO-OVSAR). Due to the nature of the trails, the event is not suitable for strollers or mobility devices, and headphones are prohibited for safety reasons.
