Grit & Grind Trail Race : Camp Fortune, Gatineau Park

This trail event takes place at Camp Fortune on September 6, 2026, and offers timed races across several distances, including a youth race for ages 7 to 12. Course details are subject to change and final routes will be confirmed by the organizer.

The new 20K for 2026 is designated as a UTMB Index Race. The 20K field has a prize purse for both men and women as follows: 1st 3,000; 2nd 2,000; 3rd 1,000; 4th 750; 5th 500; 6th 250. Chip timing is used for official results.

Distances:

  • 20K (two loops with steep climbs and technical descents)
  • 10K (rolling climbs, technical sections, runnable stretches)
  • 5K (short route with quick climbs and technical turns)
  • 2K Kids (ages 7–12; gentle hills on wide trails)

Included with registration are a commemorative medal unless selecting the Green Bib, a personalized race bib for registrations completed before August 27, professional chip timing, and post-race snacks and beverages. The Green Bib option removes the medal and donates a portion of the fee to the event charity partner Sauvetage Bénévole Outaouais – Ottawa Volunteer Search and Rescue. A shuttle service to and from Tunney's Pasture is available for a five dollar add-on. Optional purchases include a technical shirt and an iTab ribbon hanger. Mad Trapper Backyard Ultra offers individual, two person team, and snowshoe formats on wooded loops at The Ark in Denholm QC. Runners must return to a corral every hour and the last person to complete a full loop solo wins.

Trail du Parc is a chip timed trail race at Camp Fortune on June 27, 2026. Distances from 5 km to 30 km, plus relay and corporate categories; registration includes coffee, post race meal, drink and finisher medal.

A checkpoint-style trail event in Ottawa from Slowpokes Run Club and The North Face, with a 10 to 15 km route through city trails and landmarks and a post-run atmosphere of coffee, food and music.

Free trail session at Gatineau Park offering a 12 km run or a 6 km hike, open to all ages with free parking and leashed dogs allowed.
