Grit & Grind Trail Race
Grit & Grind Trail Race: Camp Fortune Edition
The event takes place at Camp Fortune in Gatineau Park on Sunday, September 6, 2026. Distances offered are 20 km, 10 km, 5 km and a youth 2 km for ages 7 to 12.
The 20 km is two loops featuring steep climbs, flowing singletrack and technical descents. As of 2026 the 20 km is a UTMB Index Race, part of a performance-based scoring system that uses results from races in four categories: 20K, 50K, 100K and 100M. A prize purse for both the men’s and women’s fields of the 20 km is listed as: 1st 3,000; 2nd 2,000; 3rd 1,000; 4th 750; 5th 500; 6th 250 (amounts in CAD).
The 10 km includes rolling climbs, punchy descents and a mix of technical and runnable sections. The 5 km is shorter with quick climbs, sharp descents and technical turns. The 2 km kids race offers gentle hills and wider trails for younger runners.
Registration includes a commemorative medal unless choosing the Green Bib option, a personalized race bib for registrations before August 27, professional chip timing and post-race snacks and beverages. Optional items include a technical shirt and an iTab ribbon hanger. A shuttle to and from Camp Fortune is available as a $5 add-on with departures and afternoon drop-off at Tunney's Pasture. Headphones and earbuds are not permitted on course. The event is not suitable for strollers or mobility devices. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
