MacTuffX Swindon : County Ground, 11 October 2026

MacTuffX Swindon is a functional fitness racing event held at the County Ground in Swindon. The event combines repeated running segments with ten Xercises that use implements such as sandbags, hexbells, kettlebells and slamballs. Entrants must be aged 18 or over on the day of the event.

Competitors can choose how to enter: Solo, Doubles (two people sharing work) or Relay teams. Relay teams are made of five people; each relay member completes two runs plus Xercises. There are two distance formats that change the running component:

  • 10 x 400 m (Classic)
  • 10 x 800 m (Double Distance)

Examples of Xercises and prescribed loads include Alternating Snatch (80 reps; men 15 kg hexbell, ladies 9 kg hexbell), Devil Press (30 reps; men 2 x 10 kg hexbell, ladies 2 x 5 kg hexbell), Zercher Carry (250 m; men 25 kg sandbag, ladies 15 kg sandbag) and Slamball Situp (30 reps; men 9 kg slamball, ladies 6 kg slamball). A LITE division is available for those who wish to compete with lower weights while participating alongside standard divisions.

Trail runs nearby

Hazelbury Hurrah! is a multi terrain running event in Corsham on 10 July 2026 with a main six mile course and a 2 km junior race. The race is Trail Running Association licensed and supports local charities.

Teams of three race from the Packhorse pub to a Midford cider farm and back over an off road route, collecting and carrying a full barrel. Fancy dress is compulsory and prizes include fastest teams and best costume.

A circular half marathon trail run on the Ridgeway that visits Ashdown House and the original White Horse Hill. The route is described as undulating and the event is held under UK Athletics rules with a Trail Running Association permit.

Timed laps on a 2.62 mile out and back canal route with flexible distance options from 5 km up to ultra and a seven hour time limit. Both in person and virtual entries receive a physical medal.
