Machete Muertos 200

Machete Muertos 200 is a multi-distance trail event held at Lake Perris in Perris, California from October 28 to November 1, 2026. The event includes looped courses around the campground and trails at the lake and features multiple race distances and a ruck division.

Distances

  • 200 mile with more than 44,000 feet of elevation gain.
  • 100 mile
  • 50 mile
  • 20 mile ruck division
  • 10 mile

Course and logistics: the 10 and 50 mile races use a roughly 10 mile loop with about 2,300 feet of elevation gain per lap. The 20 mile, 100 mile, and 200 mile races use a 20 mile course that accumulates about 4,500 feet of elevation per loop. Aid stations include a full aid station at mile 6 for the 10 and 50 mile courses, and aid at miles 8 and 13 for the 20, 100, and 200 mile courses. The start and finish area functions as a transition and crew area.

Cutoff times are stated as 96 hours for the 200 mile, 48 hours for the 100 mile, 24 hours for the 50 mile, 12 hours for the 20 mile ruck division, and none for the 10 mile. Pacer rules vary by distance; one pacer per runner is allowed with timing requirements for longer distances. Campground use is included for participants and their supporters in a group tent campground without trailers or hookups. Cash prizes are offered for the top three overall finishers in the 100 mile and 200 mile races. Registration closes October 16, 2026. No refunds are offered; transfers may be considered in limited cases. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
