Lost Pines Endurance Challenge

The Lost Pines Endurance Challenge is a multi-distance trail event at Lake Bastrop South Shore Park in Bastrop, Texas, held January 16-17, 2027. The event uses the North-South Trailway as an out-and-back course connecting the park's South Shore and North Shore areas.

Trail surface is a mix of packed dirt, sand, rock, and pine needles with rolling hills and a few technical sections. The route passes through loblolly pine forest, includes lake overlooks and creek crossings, and features bridges that span park inlets. Trail marking and maintenance are noted as in place. Headlamps are required after dark. Typical January temperatures are described as mornings in the 40s-50s°F and afternoons in the 50s-60s°F.

The weekend program runs across two days with a range of timed and untimed formats. Full aid station support is provided on the main race day. Lake Bastrop South Shore Park offers on-site cabins, RV hookups, and tent camping. An awards ceremony and a post-race gathering are scheduled on the final day.
