Eltuck Valley 12K - Lory Summer Trail Series

The Lory Summer Trail Series concludes with the Eltuck Valley 12K, held at Lory State Park in Bellvue, Colorado. This event serves as the fourth race in a midweek series and takes place at the Eltuck Picnic Area. The course utilizes the Valley Trails, providing a flat and fast route with approximately 500 feet of elevation gain.

This race is part of a larger series of shorter trail distances held throughout August:

  • 5 km Eltuck Valley (flat)
  • 5 km Eltuck (hilly)
  • 10 km Eltuck (hilly)
  • 12 km Eltuck Valley (flat)

The event is designed as a low-key race where participants use chip timing to record results. Registrations for this specific 12K distance are capped at 125 participants. There is no aid provided on the course, though permanent restrooms are available at the start and finish area, as well as at multiple points along the 12 km route.

All registrants may choose a vintage race shirt from previous events. Following the run, participants can gather for pizza and beverages. Participants are responsible for Colorado State Parks entrance fees if they do not possess an annual pass. Parking is located at the Eltuck Picnic Area with overflow directed to the nearby Spur Road.
