Event Overview
The Lory Summer Trail Series consists of four midweek trail races held on Tuesdays in August at Lory State Park near Bellvue, Colorado. Each race is a separate event with a different distance and course profile, ranging from a flat 5k to a hilly 10k. The series concludes with a 12k race on the fast and flat Valley Trail.
Distances and Schedule
The series includes four races, each on a Tuesday in August:
- August 5: Flat and Fast Eltuck Valley 5k (250 ft elevation gain)
- August 12: Into the Hills Eltuck 5k (700 ft elevation gain)
- August 19: Into the Hills Eltuck 10k (1,700 ft elevation gain)
- August 26: Flat and Fast Eltuck Valley 12k (500 ft elevation gain)
Series Details
Results are based on chip timing, with points awarded for each race. Top points scorers in the series receive unique awards at the end of the series. All registrants can choose a free vintage Gnar race shirt from previous events, subject to availability.
Post Race and Amenities
After each race, pizza and beverages are provided. There is no on-course aid during the races. Permanent toilets are available at the start/finish area, and some courses pass additional park restrooms.
Location and Logistics
All races start at the Eltuck Picnic Area in Lory State Park. Participants without an annual Colorado State Parks Pass must purchase a day pass for park entry. Parking is at the picnic area until full, with overflow parking on nearby Spur Road. Bib pickup starts one hour before the race. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
