Longbridge 100 Backyard Ultra Taster Session

The Longbridge 100 Backyard Ultra Taster Session is a mini experience of the backyard ultra format held on a hilly trail course. While it follows the specific regulations of a backyard ultra, it is designed as a taster session and incorporates the achievement of a full marathon distance for those who complete the prescribed additional sections.

The event utilizes the standard backyard yard length of 6.7056 kilometers (4 miles 880 feet). Participants start a new yard precisely every hour. To stay in the event, runners must be in the starting corral when the bell rings and complete each lap within the one-hour time limit. This specific session consists of six yards. To reach a marathon distance, an additional 1 km is added to yards five and six.

Participants are required to collect a token at a turnaround point during each lap to verify their progress. The first lap is led by a run leader, after which participants may run at their own pace. A marquee is provided for resting between laps.

The event is cup-free, and runners must bring their own hydration equipment. On-site provisions include water, fruit, flapjack, and maltloaf. Participants who complete all six yards within the time limits receive a token box, a marathon memento, a bag of coffee, and a can of beer. There is also an award for the fastest lap time recorded during the second, third, or fourth yard. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.

  • 6.7 km (standard yard length)
