Lobo Cancer Challenge

The Lobo Cancer Challenge is an annual community fundraiser held each September at the UNM Lobo Football Stadium (University Stadium) in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The event brings together participants, sponsors, and community groups to raise funds for cancer care and related programs.

Funds raised by Challengers go directly to participants' choice of program in cancer patient treatment and support, advanced cancer research, community outreach, or education and training. Event sponsors enable the organizer to direct 100% of fundraising dollars to those chosen programs.

Event day at the stadium features several on-site and virtual options:

  • 5K Run / Walk
  • 25 Mile Bike Ride (open to ages 12 and older)
  • 50 Mile Bike Ride (open to ages 12 and older)
  • Stadium Stair Challenge
  • Cub Pack Fun Run for children ages 1–10
  • Virtual Challenger option

Sponsor booths populate a Participant Village and a Wellness Village. Games and activities are offered on the stadium field as part of the day's community activities.

The Lobo Cancer Challenge supports the University of New Mexico Comprehensive Cancer Center in Albuquerque. The UNM Comprehensive Cancer Center is designated by the National Cancer Institute as a Comprehensive Cancer Center serving the New Mexico region.
