13th Annual Little Ironman: 5K, Fun Walk, and Mud Run

This tribute event honors Little Ironman and takes place on August 23, 2026, at Sulphur Springs Baptist Church in Jonesborough, Tennessee. The event includes in-person races and a virtual option, and proceeds benefit the P.H.I.L. Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that assists families facing financial difficulties due to a health crisis.

Distances offered:

• 3.1 miles Little Ironman 5K
• 1 mile Little Ironman Fun Walk
• 1 mile Little Ironman Mud Run
• 3.1 miles Little Ironman Virtual 5K

The Mud Run features multiple obstacles including a creek run, tires, balance beam, climbing walls, mud crawl, quintuple steps, monkey bars, and a large mud pit. It is open for ages three and up and is organized in heats by age group with multiple runs allowed during the event period. A rinse-down station, changing tent, towels, and bags for dirty clothes will be available.

The 5K uses digital timing. Awards are planned for top overall male and female, top male and female 70 and over, and top three in each age group. Age groups begin at 14 and under and continue through 60 plus. To guarantee a 2026 event shirt, pre-registration is required by August 20; a limited number of shirts and swag bags are available on event day.
