Little Bitty Backyard - The Running Kind

Little Bitty Backyard is a last person standing trail event held at Wildlands Conservancy South Mountain Preserve in Emmaus, PA on June 13, 2026. Runners complete the same loop each circuit; the event continues until only one participant remains.

The selected loop is about 3.4 miles with more than 350 ft of elevation change over challenging terrain. Loops begin on a regular hourly schedule; if a runner misses the start for the next loop they are eliminated. Loop times for individual laps are not chip timed.

Participants are allotted a 10 by 10 foot transition space for a tent, aid gear, or a cot. Crew support is permitted in the transition area; pacers are not allowed. A returning night race called Blackout uses one loop of the same course and is chip timed. The program also includes a Best Day Beer Mile.

The event is organized as a zero carbon event. A registration fee includes an offset for participant travel emissions and the organizer will collect monetary donations for Wildlands Conservancy. Gently worn, used, or new shoes are accepted for Sneakers 4 Good with proceeds supporting the nonprofit partner. The Trail Mix Fund is noted as a resource that can cover race registration fees for eligible underrepresented runners. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
