Leavenworth Skyline 27k

The Leavenworth Skyline 27k is scheduled for May 23, 2026 and is part of the Vert Running Series. The course features about 3,800 feet of vertical gain and runs on mountain bike trails and forest service roads around the Leavenworth Ski Hill Area and Freund Canyon. Finishers may choose a custom Leavenworth Trail Fest glass mug or have five trees planted via One Tree Planted, and a post-race meal is provided at the Trail Family Food Tent.

Course, aid, categories and awards

The route begins at the base of the Leavenworth Ski Hill Area, ascends via "The Nut" for approximately 2 miles to forest service roads that reach Tumwater Ridge (Tumwater Paraglider Launch area parking). The fastest-to-summit awards are determined at that ridge. The course then descends and traverses to Freund Canyon on downhill forest service roads with views of the Eastern Cascade alpine desert, includes a short uphill, and finishes with a final descent back to the start/finish festival area.

Aid stations are located at mile 4, mile 8 and mile 13.9 and offer Gnarly drinks, gels, pbj, chips, fruit and other snacks. The event is cupless, so participants must bring their own cup or hydration vessel; a Hydrapak Speedcup is available at packet pickup. Divisions are Elite, Sport and Masters 45+. Overall top finishers in each division receive custom wooden awards; King, Queen and Monarch of Vert each receive $100 cash. Registration opens October 21, 2025 with an early bird fee of $94 until January 14, 2026 and $117 thereafter. The event donates $10 from each paid 27k and 55k registration to Evergreen Mountain Bike Alliance and is operated under a special use permit with the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest. Managed by Mountain Running Races LLC. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
