Last of the Felascans
Alachua, United States • 22 Nov 2025
Event format
Last of the Felascans is a backyard ultra held at San Felasco Hammock Preserve State Park in Alachua, FL (12730 NW 109th Ln). The event follows the "Last One Standing" format: participants run a 4.167-mile loop every hour and are eliminated if they do not complete a loop within an hour. The loop distance is equal to 100 divided by 24, so running every loop for a full day equals 100 miles. The course uses trails during daylight and a dirt road after dark; there is no pavement on either course. There is no predefined finish; the winner is the competitor who completes a loop that no other competitor completes. If no competitor outlasts every other competitor, there is no winner.
Logistics and rules
Runners may set up a maximum 10'x10' base camp at the start/finish area. There will be bathrooms and water available at the start/finish; ice is not guaranteed. There are no aid stations on course and no aid allowed outside the start/finish area. A whistle will sound at 3, 2, and 1 minute remaining before each loop start. Race rules require runners to be in the starting corral and to start when the bell rings, and they may receive no assistance after the bell until they complete the loop. Crews are not permitted on course. There are no refunds for dropping out; fees from dropouts will be donated to the Friends of San Felasco. Registration closes Thu, Nov 20 at 11:59 PM ET.
