Gate2Gate Trail Run
The Gate2Gate Trail Run takes place in the northern region of San Felasco Hammock Preserve State Park near Alachua, Florida. The course uses local trails and park terrain and returns to the start after completing a loop.
- 25K
- 50K
The course includes miles of single track mountain bike trails, open fields, and rolling hills. After the first 5 miles the route moves onto double track hiking and birding trails in the southern portion of the park, follows the yellow trail loop through western areas with notable hills, passes toward the CSO area, and then uses a lesser known connector trail back to the north end biking trails. 25K runners complete the circuit once and 50K runners complete it twice. The course will be open for 8 hours.
Aid stations are located at the following mile points. Loop 1: Mile 5 Old Oak Road, Mile 9 South Gate, Mile 12 CSO, Mile 15.5 Start/Finish. Loop 2: Mile 20.5 Old Oak Road, Mile 24.75 South Gate, Mile 28 CSO, Mile 31.5 Start/Finish. Each station will provide water, electrolyte drink Powerade, basic ultra foods such as PB&J sandwiches, and a variety of sweet and salty items. There will be no gels, S Caps, or medications like ibuprofen at the aid stations. Cups will not be provided so participants must carry their own bottles, hydration vests, or cups. Single serving gel packs are discouraged because they are not biodegradable.
The event includes a TailGate2Gate celebration zone timed with the Florida Gators football bye week. Net proceeds from the event will be donated to the Friends of San Felasco community support organization. Every finisher receives a custom medal and a custom glass, and 50K finishers also receive a custom trucker hat. Camping options near the start include O'Leno State Park and Paynes Prairie Preserve State Park, each about 20 to 30 minutes away. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
