Last Man Standing Lake Placid

Last Man Standing Lake Placid takes place July 25, 2026 on the wooded trails of Mt. Hovenberg in Lake Placid, New York. The event follows the backyard ultra format where runners complete repeated loops until they stop.

Each loop is a 4.167 mile circuit that must be completed within each hour. Runners may finish a loop early and use the remaining time to rest or refuel, but they must return to the corral before the next bell to begin the following loop. A runner who fails to start a loop on time is removed from the event.

Participants set their own goals for how many loops to complete; distances achieved depend on how many consecutive loops the runner completes. The course is on wooded trail terrain at Mt. Hovenberg.

Registration opens August 31, 2025 and closes July 25, 2026. A price alert listed on May 3, 2026 noted 181 sign ups and the following tiered fees by participant count: 0-125 $115, 126-150 $125, 151-175 $135, 176-200 $145, and 201+ moved to a waitlist.

Race giveaways include shirts and medals. For 2026 there are new award ribbon sliders that attach to medal ribbons for hitting Ultra Levels at 50k, 50 Mile, 100K, and 100 Mile. Awards include Overall Champion, Top Other Gender Overall, Masters Male and Female (40+), and Grand Masters Male and Female (50+). Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
