Last Man Standing Lake Placid
Last Man Standing Lake Placid is a backyard ultra held on wooded trails at Mt. Van Hoevenberg in Lake Placid, NY, on July 25, 2026. The event uses the Backyard Ultra format: participants run a repeated loop and must complete each circuit within the hour to continue. The course loop is 4.167 miles (6.706 km) and a new loop begins at the top of each hour. A runner who does not complete a loop in time or who does not start the next loop is eliminated. The last person to complete a loop is declared the overall winner.
Participants may approach the event with different aims; some compete for the overall title while others set personal targets for a specific number of loops. Recognition and awards are given for Overall Champion, Top Other Gender Overall, Masters (40+), and Grand Masters (50+). Race giveaways include shirts and medals. For 2026 there are ribbon sliders that attach to medal ribbons to mark achievement of ultra distances such as 50k, 50 mile, 100K, and 100 mile.
The event lists Team RWB as a benefactor and provides course maps and strategy materials for participants. The venue address is 31 Van Hoevenberg Way, Lake Placid, NY 12946. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
