Paul Smiths Trail Running Festival

The Paul Smiths Trail Running Festival is a loop style endurance race held in Paul Smiths, NY. Participants choose a time based option of 6 hours, 3 hours, or 1 hour and aim to complete as many laps of the course as possible within the selected time. The loop is approximately 4 mile in length.

The course runs on moderately rolling terrain. Sections are on singletrack paths through conifer stands, and other sections follow wide former logging roads. The route can offer views of Whiteface Mountain.

The event includes live music and food in the event area. Packet pickup and check in are offered the day prior at the VIC lodge and on the day of the event. The format emphasizes repeated laps of the same course so support, aid, and event facilities are centralized and accessible from the loop.

Distances are determined by the number of laps completed within each time option rather than a fixed race length. The festival style setting combines on trail running with onsite amenities and communal elements typical of multi hour loop events. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
