Lakeland Paws: Grizedale Growl

This is Season 5 and the second Lakeland Paws event at Grizedale Forest in the same season. The course is set on the east side of the forest and is fully marked. The event is chip timed and GPX files are available for download.

Two course options are offered on wide forest paths. Runners may take part with or without dogs. Up to two dogs per runner are permitted on this course provided each dog is run on a suitable harness. There are no cut offs for either course.

Practical details from the organiser include an entry fee of £20 and a minimum age of 16. Entries open on 27 April 2026 and close on 2 January 2027. The organiser describes this event as having less ascent and easier running than some other events in the series.

Distances

  • 10K loop, 260 m ascent
  • 6K, 150 m ascent

The shorter option avoids some of the ascent and is recommended for those seeking a shorter route for themselves or their dogs. The route uses wide forest tracks and is intended to be runnable compared with other events in the series. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
