Lake of the Ozarks Endurance Runs
The Lake of the Ozarks Endurance Runs take place at Lake of the Ozarks State Park in Kaiser, Missouri. The event offers four separate races that share the same start and finish at Public Beach #1 and use trails within the state park.
Distances and race formats:
- LOZ Traverse: approximately 32 miles running plus 3 miles paddling.
- LOZ Traverse: Short Course: 16 miles running plus 3 miles paddling.
- Trail of Four Winds 25K: 25 kilometers on mixed single track and double track.
- Wandering Bobcat 5 Miler: about 5.5 miles on trail.
Trail conditions include roots, loose rocks, slick surfaces, creek crossings, rock outcrops, overlooks, and grades of ten percent or more. Elevation gain is noted as 1600 plus feet for the 25K and about 700 plus feet for the 5 mile race. Runners must provide their own kayaks, canoes, or stand up paddle boards for the Traverse races and must wear a Coast Guard approved life jacket. Dogs are not allowed on course.
Aid stations are located at multiple mile markers and a drop bag location is at the start/finish for the LOZ Traverse. Packet pickup is available on race day only. Awards include finisher awards and overall top three male and female placings; recipients must be present to accept awards. Photographs will be taken and posted at no charge.
