Lake of the Ozarks Endurance Runs
The Lake of the Ozarks Endurance Runs are held at Lake of the Ozarks State Park with start and finish at Public Beach #1. The event comprises three separate races on park trails and nearby lake access, with aid stations and race-day packet pickup.
Distances offered:
- Wandering Bobcat 5 Miler (approximately 5.5 miles)
- Trail of Four Winds 25K
- LOZ Traverse (approximately 32 miles running and 3 miles paddling)
Trail of Four Winds 25K and the Wandering Bobcat course include significant elevation gain and mixed surfaces such as single track, double track, rock outcrops, roots, loose rock, creek crossings, and steep grades. Wandering Bobcat lists roughly 700 feet of elevation gain; Four Winds lists more than 1600 feet spread throughout. LOZ Traverse combines the Four Winds running course with lake paddling legs using personal kayaks, canoes, or stand-up paddle boards; competitors must wear a Coast Guard approved life jacket and only one person is allowed per boat. A 4.5 hour cutoff applies to finishing the Four Winds side of the LOZ Traverse, and an overall cutoff is in place for the full event.
Aid stations are located at multiple mile points on the courses, and a drop bag location is available at the start/finish for the LOZ Traverse. Packet pickup is available on race day only. Awards include finisher recognition and overall male and female top three placings; recipients must be present to accept awards. Photographs will be taken and posted at no charge.
The event lists local running stores as title sponsors and notes optional donations to a nonprofit partner, with matching funds available up to a specified amount. No refunds are issued in the event of cancellation or postponement. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
