Lake Gwelup 5km Cross Country (Race 3 of the Winter Cup Series)

The Lake Gwelup 5km Cross Country event takes place on Sunday 27 September 2026 at Lake Gwelup. The race is the third event in the UWA Athletics Club and West Australian Marathon Club Winter Cup Series and is organised by the West Australian Marathon Club.

The partnership between the two clubs aims to create a fun, competitive, all abilities and inclusive series for athletes of all levels, and to strengthen the connection between the clubs and the broader running community. The event distance is 5 km.

WAMC members run free. Non-members pay an entry fee of AUD 20.00 and non-member entrants under 18 are charged AUD 20.00. Member entrants under 18 have no entry fee. A Winter Cup Series cash prize will be awarded to the top three teams in each category.

The Race Director is UWA Athletics Club. Online registrations close on Thursday 24 September 2026 at 11:50 PM, unless the event sells out earlier. King of the Mountain is a 16.1 km loop trail run at Helena Valley Primary School on 28 June 2026, organised by the West Australian Marathon Club. The marked route includes a creek crossing, a 1.5 km ascent to a granite summit and rocky desc..

Run the Lighthorse Ultra on 5 and 6 September 2026 at Perry's Paddock in Woodvale for its tenth and final staging there. Enjoy 3 to 24 hour timed loop options on a scenic 2.5 km circuit and a dawn service.
