The Lake Chapman Trail Races take place on Sunday March 15, 2026 in Athens, GA at Sandy Creek Park, 400 Bob Holman Road, 30607. The event includes two trail races:

  • 5K Trail Race
  • 15K Trail Race

Entry fees listed are $35 for the 5K and $55 for the 15K. Prices increase after January 31, 2026. The organizer reported that both events sold out early in March the previous year.

Course, awards, and policies

The 5K begins with a short road section followed by technical trail sections. The 15K begins with a short road section and then follows a full loop of the Lakeside Loop Trail. Course maps are provided. All finishers receive medals. There are place awards for top finishers and age group awards.

In the event of dangerous weather the race may be postponed up to two hours or cancelled. If Sandy Creek Park deems the trails unrunnable, the event will use modified course(s) within the park, primarily on pavement if necessary. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
