Kent Backyard Ultra Series 2.1: Vigo

Kent Backyard Ultra Series 2.1: Vigo takes place on Friday 16 October 2026 at Vigo Rugby Club, Harvel Road, Meopham, Luddesdown, Kent, DA13 0UA. The event uses the rugby club as the event hub, with the route heading into surrounding woodland and a night start that brings headtorches into use.

The format follows the Backyard Ultra structure. Runners complete a single 4.167 mile yard each hour, must finish that yard within the hour and return to the start area for the next bell. Missing the bell ends a runner’s race. There is only one official finisher: the Last Person Standing is the runner who completes one more yard than any other. The Assist is the last runner to complete a yard before the winner. Runners may enter the open Backyard Ultra format or choose a 7 Hour challenge limited to seven hours on the same course and schedule.

Entries include participation in an official Backyard Ultra event, a fully marked and managed course, professional chip timing, event hub support, on-site medical cover, and inclusion in event results and series standings. Awards at the event and across the series include gendered gold buckles for the furthest runner at each event, a silver buckle for the Assist, a bronze buckle for completing 24 yards (100 miles), a Last Person Standing medal for the event winner, and a series black buckle for overall performance. A team prize of £200 will be awarded to the team, club, or charity that collectively records the furthest distance across the series. Separate volunteer roles are available through the Hellfire Crew; volunteers must be 18 or older and receive event credits and on-shift provisions.
