INTO the WILD OC Trail Run : Fremont Canyon, Irvine Regional Park
Into the Wild OC is a single distance trail event held in Fremont Canyon at Irvine Regional Park in Orange, California on Saturday, December 5, 2026. Park entry is free. Race day parking is directed to Parking Lot P and Lot O; signs inside the park mark the route to the event area. The start and finish are at Parking Lot P.
The course covers 28k (17.5 miles) on fire roads with a total elevation gain and loss of about 3800 ft. The event provides four aid stations located near miles 3.9, 7, 10, and 13 offering electrolytes, water, gels, salt, bananas, and oranges. This is a cupless race and participants are advised to carry a handheld bottle or a hydration pack. The last six miles of the course are downhill.
Organizers do not enforce an official cutoff time but ask participants to maintain roughly a 17:15 minute per mile pace, which would result in a five hour completion time. Pre-running the course is not allowed unless it occurs on wilderness access days or during docent led activities; unauthorized access may affect the event schedule and future access. Pets are not allowed on park land; pets may remain in the start and finish area. Packet pick up is available before race day at a local running store and race day packet pick up is permitted. Registration for the 28k closes before race day and there is no race day registration. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
