The IHSAA Foundation presents the first annual Run it Forward 5K on Saturday, October 31, 2026, at the LaVern Gibson State Championship Cross Country Course in Terre Haute, Indiana. The event takes place on the championship cross country course that hosts the IHSAA Boys' and Girls' State Championships and is scheduled just after the Cross Country State Finals.
The fundraiser supports education-based athletics, including coaches, officials, and school programs. The race offers a timed 5K on the LaVern Gibson course and provides participant amenities including a T-shirt and a finisher medal. Runners will have the chance to run the same championship course used for state competition.
Awards will recognize overall male and female winners, masters male and female winners (65 and older), age-group winners, and the largest group or team. The event is organized by the IHSAA Foundation and is described as its first 5K event, with proceeds directed to foundation activities that support high school athletic programs and personnel.
