About the race
OPSF 50|50 is a trail running event held in Owen-Putnam State Forest near Poland, IN, organized by the non-profit Indiana Trail Running Association (ITRA). The race uses Horse Campground as the Start/Finish and features trails that are about 90% single track and horse trails with some fire road sections and rolling hills.
Course formats and loop structure:
- 50 Mile: three lollipop loops plus an additional short loop
- 50k: two lollipop loops plus a short finishing loop
- 14 Miler
- 10K: one loop
The lollipop course runs from Start/Finish to Aid A along the "stick" and then a loop from Aid A to Aid B and back to Aid A for the "pop." Aid stations are cupless; runners must carry the ability to hold 20 oz of water on their person at all times because no cups are provided at aid stations.
Entry fees vary by distance and the published price range for the event is USD 48.50 to USD 120.65. Payment is by credit card only; cash and checks are not accepted for race entry. If event capacity is not reached, same day registration may be available. Registered entrants receive OPSF 50|50 swag if registered by March 1. Age group awards and finisher medals are given to finishers.
Logistics note: 14 Miler and 10K participants are shuttled from a designated parking area; 50M and 50k participants park at Horse Campground. Camping is available at Horse Campground on a first come basis for a fee and requires on site payment. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
