Icicles On The Moon Trail Run
This night trail event takes place at Zindel Park in McElhattan, PA on December 19, 2026. The event uses the local trails around the reservoir and starts at the Zindel Park caretaker house. Participants must wear a headlamp and should be prepared for winter conditions because the event will be held as planned regardless of weather.

The 7 Miler route leaves the Zindel house, follows a road to the reservoir, crosses a metal foot bridge, then follows Final Cut to Gut Check. Runners climb Gut Check to the top, turn left onto Outer Limits, continue Outer Limits out to Pine Loganton Road, pass an aid station at the parking lot, then descend Spring Run to the Gorge Trail. Spring Run includes five stream crossings. From Gorge Trail the course continues to Black Diamond, then Creekside Trail down to the finish.
The 5K follows the same start as the 7 Miler up to the top of Gut Check, continues on Gut Check, crosses the bridge over McElhattan Run, connects to Gorge Trail, proceeds to Black Diamond and Creekside, then down to the finish.
Registration for the 2026 event opens on July 19, 2026 via Ultrasignup. Entry is limited to the first 250 runners, hikers, or walkers. No refunds, no deferrals, and no bandits are allowed. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
