Icicles On The Moon at Zindel Park

This night trail run is held at the Zindel Park caretaker's house and uses the local trails around the reservoir. Participants must wear a headlamp and be prepared for winter conditions; the event will proceed as planned regardless of weather.

Distances:

  • 7 mile course uses Outer Limits, Spring Run, Gut Check and other Zindel trails
  • 5K course follows Gut Check to Gorge Trail then Black Diamond and Creekside trails

The 7 mile route starts at the Zindel house, runs up the road to the reservoir, crosses a metal foot bridge, then follows Final Cut over to Gut Check. Runners climb Gut Check to the top, turn left onto Outer Limits and follow it out to Pine Loganton Road. An aid station is located at the parking lot. The course continues down Spring Run to the Gorge Trail, with five stream crossings, then follows Gorge Trail to Black Diamond and Creekside Trail down to the finish.

The 5K follows the same path as the 7 mile course until the top of Gut Check, continues along Gut Check, crosses the bridge over McElhattan Run, then proceeds to Gorge Trail, Black Diamond, and Creekside to the finish.

Entry is limited to the first 250 participants. There are no refunds, deferrals, or unauthorized entries. Registration opens July 19, 2026 via Ultrasignup. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
