Horseshoe Valley Hustle Trail & Ultra Challenge

The event takes place on October 31, 2026 at Horseshoe Valley Resort, 1101 Horseshoe Valley Rd W, Barrie, ON, Canada. All distances are based out of the resort main area with access to on-site amenities.

Offered distances:

  • 1 KM Small Steps Run (family friendly, non-trail)
  • 5 KM Trail Run/Walk
  • 10 KM Trail Run/Walk
  • 8-Hour Endurance Challenge - solo or team of 2, 4, or 8

The base course is a 5 KM loop; participants completing greater distances run multiple loops. The route features rugged, narrow single-track through forest, frequent elevation changes, steep climbs, and technical terrain with loose rocks, roots, and uneven footing. There is one aid station at the 2.5 KM mark, passed once per loop.

The eight hour endurance event challenges entrants to complete as many laps as possible within a strict eight hour time limit. Teams relay according to their selected team size. Organizers enforce a cutoff for starting final laps and will not count laps started after that cutoff.

Practical details: start and finish are at the resort main area, ample on-site parking, on-site food and lodging options, and bib pickup is required before lining up at the start. Race day pickup is available and another person may collect a bib on a participant's behalf by providing the participant's first and last name.
