Event details

The Horseshoe Valley Hustle takes place on October 18, 2025 at Horseshoe Valley Resort in Barrie, Ontario. The event offers three distances:

  • 1KM Small Steps Run/Walk (out-and-back on paved paths)
  • 5KM trail race (one loop)
  • 10KM trail race (two loops of the 5KM course)

The event supports the Down Syndrome Association of Simcoe County. Race registration includes chipped timing and a post-race breakfast. There are no finisher medals; the top three overall male and female finishers in each distance receive gold, silver and bronze awards.

Course and logistics

The 5KM loop uses narrow single-track trails through forest with frequent elevation changes, steep climbs, loose rocks, roots and uneven footing. Runners should use appropriate trail footwear. Water stations are located at the 2.5KM mark each loop; 10KM runners pass the main station twice and will have an additional station at the 5KM mark. Results for top three positions are based on gun time; other results use chip time. Parking is available on site at the resort. Bib pickup is available at Lululemon Barrie (Georgian Mall) on October 16 and on event day at the resort. Strollers and dogs are permitted in the 1KM event; they are not permitted on the 5KM or 10KM trails. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
