Hindsight Ultra Trail Runs is a grassroots looped ultra held on Dixon Park District property behind the Dixon Park District Facility at 1605 Washington Ave in Dixon, IL. The course uses an approximately 7.85 mile loop to create multiple race distances.

• 8 mile 1 loop

The trail surface is mixed: about 50% singletrack, 30% grassy meadow path, and 20% gravel path. The 100 mile total elevation is roughly 6,200 feet, which averages just under 60 feet per mile. The route avoids water crossings and mountains but includes tree roots, small stumps, rocks, and other typical singletrack obstacles.

There are two aid stations: a Start/Finish station offering water, snacks, and hot food through the night plus shared items, and a smaller water and ice station at about mile 3.7. Crew access is allowed at both stations; the aid station is about one third of a mile from Start/Finish. Pacers are permitted after the first lap and may join or leave runners at the Start/Finish or the aid station. Personal canopies are allowed on a first come first serve basis; campers are not permitted.

Medals are provided to 25k, 50k, and 100k finishers. 100 mile finishers receive a buckle. Top three male and female finishers in each distance will receive awards; eligibility for those awards requires starting at the assigned start. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
