This is a technical trail event that includes ravines, limestone bluffs, forest canopy, sections of gravel road, and multiple creek crossings. The 10K route crosses Franklin Creek five times and the 5K crosses it twice. The course features repeated uphill and downhill sections with an average elevation gain near 100 ft per mile. Drinking water will be available at the start and finish area and at the mid-race shelter on the 10K; participants are asked to bring a disposable cup or hydration bladder because no cups will be provided.

The event format allows running, walking, or rucking. Awards will be presented to the top three male and female finishers in each distance and to top ruckers. Event shirts are available for purchase and are guaranteed for registrations completed before August 15, 2026. Online registration runs through September 4, 2026. Proceeds support the Franklin Creek Conservation Association for park programs, expansion, and improvements. Check-in on race day takes place at the Hausen Knox Shelter.
