Hill of a Race is a winter trail running event held at Rabbit Hill Snow Resort in Edmonton, Alberta (20715 57 Ave SW, Edmonton, AB T6Y 0J5). The course uses groomed ski runs and consists of loops of approximately 2.5 km that go up and down the slopes. The event includes aid station support, a voucher redeemable for a one-day lift ticket for the 2026/2027 ski season for all racers, and handcrafted medals for finishers. Proceeds support Olive Tree Projects, which operates a maternity centre in Jacmel, Haiti.

Race options and logistics

  • 6-hour event: complete as many approx. 2.5 km laps as possible in six hours
  • 10 km: four laps of the approx. 2.5 km loop
  • 5 km: two laps of the approx. 2.5 km loop

Participants run on groomed ski slopes; extra traction on shoes may be required. Walking poles are permitted. No skiers or snowboarders will be on the hill during the race.
