Hill of a Race - Edmonton
Hill of a Race - Edmonton
Hill of a Race is a running event held on the groomed slopes of the Rabbit Hill Snow Resort in Edmonton. Participants navigate up and down groomed ski runs on a course that is approximately 2.5 km per lap. The event takes place while the hill is closed to skiers and snowboarders.
The competition offers three distinct options based on distance or duration:
- 5 km ("The Snack"): consisting of two laps of the course.
- 10 km ("A la Carte"): consisting of four laps of the course.
- 6 hours ("All Day Buffet"): an endurance format where participants complete as many laps as possible within the six-hour limit.
Due to the snowy terrain, participants may choose to use extra traction on their footwear, and walking poles are permitted. Aid stations are available for nourishment during the event. All finishers receive handcrafted medals and a voucher for a one-day lift ticket at Rabbit Hill for the following ski season.
The event functions as a fundraiser for Olive Tree Projects, which operates a maternity centre in Jacmel, Haiti. All proceeds from the race are donated to this charitable organization. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
