High Lodge 16k Guided Trail Run

This event is a guided 16k trail run at High Lodge in Thetford Forest. The run includes brief facts about the local forest and practical tips on trail running as the group moves through woodland routes. The route offers opportunities to see wildlife in the surrounding forest.

Runs are led at a conversational pace and participants are placed in groups with similar ability. Runners may need to run at a slower pace than usual. The session is described as suitable for people who have been running on the road and are taking their first steps into trail running. Terrain is mostly flat with a couple of small hills where leaders will offer advice on hill technique.

Organisers allow up to 2.5 hours for this session, though actual time will depend on the abilities of the group. The surface will vary from hard packed trails to single track through woods. Trail shoes are recommended but road shoes are acceptable if that is all a participant has. Participants are advised to carry at least 500 ml of water and any snacks they need.

There is parking available at High Lodge for which attendees are charged £4. The stated entry price for the run is £17.50 and the event is organised by ESCAPE trails. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
