Hibernal Hills 50 Mile

The Hibernal Hills 50 Mile is a winter single loop trail event in Hampshire. The course is listed as 53 miles with around 6400 ft of ascent. Terrain is almost entirely trail, with 99 percent trail and 1 percent road. The route includes undulating sections and several longer climbs. The early part of the route follows the Staunton and Monarchs Ways for roughly the first 50 km before linking onto the South Downs Way back toward the finish.

The event starts and finishes at Ditcham Park School, Petersfield. The course is fully marked for navigation and there are six aid stations located along the route. The race holds a permit from the ARC, permit number ARC/26/0153, and is an official UTMB Index race worth 3 ITRA points.

Minimum age for entry is 20 years. A qualifier is required: entrants must have completed a marathon within that race's cutoff time in the last four years; a trail marathon is preferred but not mandatory. Organisers state that experience of trail running in winter conditions and during darkness is essential.

Entry fees are listed as £110 with an early bird rate of £100 and include a mandatory GPS tracker. The event package includes route way marking through the South Downs National Park, a bespoke finisher medal and trophies, downloadable race photos, live GPS tracking and chip timing, prizes for veteran category winners, event insurance and first aid and medical cover. Refund and deferral rules are published, including a 50 percent refund option up to 6 November 2025 and limited deferral and transfer options toward 2027.
