Heat Wave is a timed track ultrarunning event held June 12 and 13, 2026 at Rose Hill District Stadium, 323 E. School St., Rose Hill, Kansas. The event offers multiple time based events on a USATF certified 400 meter track. Course Certification ID KS25008TJD.

Live chip timing will count laps and display cumulative distance at the start and finish area. Lap scoring is the official record of distance; four laps equal 0.99 mile or 1600 meters and 1609 meters equal one mile. Direction on the track changes every three hours during the event. Short distance challenges are held during the event and participants sign up at the start finish before each challenge.

A primary aid station is provided under the north stadium cover with ice water, supplements, fruit, chips, cookies, and light hot items by request. The event is cup less so participants should bring a drinking vessel. Designated areas are available for personal supplies but space is limited and on a first come first served basis.

Pacers are not permitted. Tents and pop ups are allowed only in designated areas and are not permitted on the infield turf. Dogs may be kept in the parking lot or covered entryway but not on the track or infield. The Honey Badger 100 is a 100 mile ultramarathon starting and finishing at Cheney State Park near Wichita, KS. It has a 36 hour limit, an 18 hour cutoff around 53.35 miles, and requires runners to provide a crew and vehicle.

A community focused backyard ultra at Sedgwick County Park where runners complete repeated 4.167 mile loops each hour until one runner remains. One hundred dollars from each registration supports Family Promise of Greater Wichita.

A grass cross country 5K in Clearwater Kansas on October 17, 2026 with a 400 meter kids fun run. Packet pickup and parking are at the middle school, post race refreshments are provided and cash prizes are awarded; chip timing pending.

A 5K mud and obstacle run at Bar 2 Bar MX near Wichita on April 10, 2027, with adult and KIDZ family waves. Waivers and photo ID are required; spectators pay a $10 cash fee for festival area access.
