Heat Wave 6/12/24 is a timed track event held June 12-13, 2026 at Rose Hill District Stadium, 323 E. School St., Rose Hill, Kansas. The course is a USATF certified 400 meter track, Course Certification ID KS25008TJD. Chip timing will be used and laps are counted by the timing service; four laps equal 0.99 mile and 1609 meters equal one mile, so official distance may differ from personal devices.

The event provides a primary aid station with ice, water, supplements, fruit, chips, cookies, and some hot items by request. This is a cupless event; participants should bring a personal drinking vessel. There are designated areas for personal aid stations; space is limited and offered first come, first served.

Pacers are not permitted. Tents and pop-ups are allowed only in designated areas and not on the infield turf. Dogs are allowed in the parking lot or the south stadium covered entryway but not on the track or infield. The course direction changes every three hours to vary running flow.

Yeti Cup Challenges run during the event and feature short races of 1 mile, two 800 meter races, and a 400 meter race. Participants receive a race t-shirt and all finishers receive a medal. Achieving 50K, 50 miles, 100K or 100 miles earns a custom belt buckle; first place male and female finishers receive trophies.

There will be no appointed on-site medical staff; seeking medical attention is the responsibility of the participant or their crew. Runners under 18 must have a parent or designated guardian present at all times. Night hours are subject to a noise policy because of nearby homes. A backyard ultra in Udall, KS on May 9, 2026 where runners loop a 4.167 mile lap each hour until one runner completes one more lap than the others. Participants receive a bib, t shirt, and a medallion showing yards completed.

A community 5K trail run/walk at Winfield City Lake with adult and 10 and under divisions, a 3.1 mile shoreline course, water stations, hidden cash prizes, and proceeds shared with a local charity.

A 100 mile ultramarathon around Cheney State Park and roads in Kingman County near Wichita, Kansas. Crew support is required and there is a 36 hour time limit with an 18 hour cutoff around 53.35 miles.

A community-focused Backyard Ultra at Sedgwick County Park where runners complete repeated 4.167 mile loops until one runner remains. One hundred dollars from each registration supports Family Promise of Greater Wichita.
