Event Details

The Hawkins Loop Valentine's Trail 5K takes place at The Land at Hawkins Loop, a family-owned 63-acre farm in Hurdle Mills, North Carolina. The event date is February 14, 2026. Participants can run or walk a 5K trail route on winter woods and pasture trails.

Course & Venue

The course involves two laps through old-growth forest, along a stream, past classic North Carolina Piedmont tobacco barns, and around a pond, finishing in front of a goat pen. The property features gently sloping pastures, century-old farmhouses, salvaged tobacco barns, and diverse bird and wildlife populations.

Event Features

The trails will be open to all visitors to explore after the race. An event photographer will be on-site. The event is planned to proceed rain or shine, except for extreme rain or wind conditions.

Participation & Impact

Participants of all ages and experience levels are welcome; those under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. This is the first public race hosted at this venue.
