Blue Heaven Trail Fest

The Blue Heaven Trail Fest is a multi-day endurance event held in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. The venue spans 83 acres of pasture and forest and is located 15 minutes from UNC. The course consists of a 4-mile trail loop featuring a mix of shaded forest and open pasture with rolling elevation changes.

Participants can choose from several distance options:

  • 100 Mile Relay (4-person team): Teams have 24 hours to complete 25 loops.
  • 100 Mile Relay (8-person team): Teams have 24 hours to complete 25 loops.
  • XC Half Marathon: Includes three full loops and a final shortened loop.
  • Sunset 4 Miler: A single loop event.
  • Sunrise 4 Miler: A single loop event.
  • Sunset to Sunrise Challenge: A combination of the Sunset and Sunrise 4-mile runs.

The venue is open for three days and provides spaces for camping and glamping. Each 100-mile relay team receives a complimentary camping space, and a shared campsite is included for those registered for the Sunset to Sunrise Challenge. Facilities on-site include a Wellness Park, music, and food. The event is located at the home of the Beautiful Together Animal Sanctuary, a non-profit organization dedicated to animal rescue and community programs. Experience flowy single track trails and scenic lakeside views at Lake Crabtree. Choose between a 7.3 mile or 13.2 mile trail run featuring punchy climbs and technical terrain followed by a festive post race atmosphere.

Experience a unique multi loop course at Cedarock Park featuring single track and equestrian trails. Choose between solo distances or form a relay team with friends to tackle the half marathon distance together.

Run alongside the scenic Haw River at the Haw River Island Ramble. Choose a timed 3.6-mile race or an untimed 1.2-mile loop. The event supports the nonprofit Haw River Assembly's mission to protect the local watershed.

This annual trail race follows the scenic Mountains-to-Sea Trail along the Eno River. Choose between a 12-mile or a 50K distance on updated 2026 courses. It's a cupless event where all finishers get a custom shirt and award.
