Harriman Trail Runs
The Harriman Trail Runs take place in Harriman State Park near Island Park, Idaho, with the start and finish on the east lawn of the Boy's House. The event offers multiple distances and a mix of single track, two-track, gravel and meadow running with views of the Teton Mountains.
Distances for 2026 include:
- Short: 1k / 0.6 mi gravel loop through the historic Railroad Ranch
- Tall: 10k / 6.4 mi follows the Silver Lake Trail after two-track access
- Grande: 25k / 15.3 mi single-loop course
- Venti: 50k / 30.6 mi two loops of the 25k course
Course changes for 2026 aim to improve aid station access and alter direction through open meadows to reduce sun exposure. Course markings will use directional arrows, ribbons, signage and flour arrows when weather allows.
Aid stations include one on-course station visited multiple times depending on distance, plus a start/finish station. Typical aid fare includes cookies, chips, soda, candy, pickles, water and sports drink. Finishers receive medals, and prizes are awarded to the top three women and top three men in the Tall, Grande and Venti distances. Late breakfast, brunch or lunch is included in entry for all distances.
Participation is limited to preserve the park character. There is no camping inside the park; yurts and park buildings are available to rent, and nearby campgrounds, dispersed camping and lodging exist outside the park. Registration opens April 1, 2026. The organizer refund and transfer policy limits refunds to cases when the race is full and a wait list entrant can replace the registrant; there are no rollovers and entries may not be transferred.
