Yellowstone Trail Race

Yellowstone Trail Race : August 1, 2026, West Yellowstone, MT

The event takes place on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at the Rendezvous Ski Trails in West Yellowstone, MT. The race program includes these distances:

• Marathon
• 1/2 Marathon
• 10K

Prices listed are $80 for the Marathon, $70 for the 1/2 Marathon, and $50 for the 10K. The race is held on trails near the west entrance to Yellowstone National Park and on land managed by the Custer Gallatin National Forest.

Course, logistics, and race services

All races start and finish at the Rendezvous Ski Trails. Course formats: the Marathon is two loops (elevation gain: 1,900 ft), the 1/2 Marathon is one loop (elevation gain: 960 ft), and the 10K is one loop (elevation gain: 340 ft). The course is trail and mixed terrain and is marked with color-coded flags, cones, and arrows. A water station is provided on the Marathon and 1/2 Marathon routes; runners planning to carry water should train with a hydration vest or hand bottle. The event is permitted under special use authorization from the Custer Gallatin National Forest, and the Forest Service recommends participants carry bear spray. Registration includes a race bib, finishers medal, custom race sticker, timing and posted results with a points system and prizes, sponsor products from Hammer Nutrition, and aid station support.
