Happy Trails Marathon - South Jordan, UT

The Happy Trails event offers a marathon and a half marathon that follow the Jordan River Parkway. Both courses start and finish at East River Front Park in South Jordan and run primarily on paved trails with tree-lined sections, bridges, and river views.

Distances:

  • Marathon, 26.2 miles, +392 ft elevation gain, 96% paved trail
  • Half Marathon, 13.1 miles, +216 ft elevation gain, 92% paved trail

Course navigation uses pink flags, ribbons, signs, and trail marshals. Aid stations are placed along the routes and provide Tailwind, water, Honey Stinger gels and waffles, fruit, soda, and small snacks; first aid kits and basic pain-relief supplies are available. Event photos are taken on course and at the finish and are provided without a watermark.

Runners receive a high quality race shirt and a locally made finisher medal. A post-race breakfast from Great Harvest Bread includes pastries and drinks. Free parking is available at the park. Packet pickup is on the Friday before the race at the Salt Lake Running Store, with same-day pickup available at the start area.

Field sizes are capped for trail and facility capacity; both the marathon and half marathon have participant limits. Cutoff on course follows a 7.5 hour pace. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
