Event Overview
The Happy Trails Marathon and Half Marathon take place on April 18, 2026, starting at Olympic Park in Lehi, Utah. The event offers two distances: a marathon (26.2 miles) and a half marathon (13.1 miles). The courses primarily follow the paved Jordan River Parkway trail, with 97% of the marathon and 92% of the half marathon on paved trail or sidewalk. The route passes by the Jordan River, golf courses, parks, and through tree-lined sections.
Course Details
The marathon has a total elevation gain of 1,027 feet, while the half marathon has 621 feet. Aid stations along the course provide Tailwind, water, Honey Stinger gels and waffles, fruit, and other snacks. They also have basic first aid supplies. The course is marked with pink flags, ribbons, signs, and trail marshals. A 7.5-hour pace cutoff is in place for the marathon.
Registration and Logistics
Registration closes the day before the event. Packet pickup is available the day before at a local running store or on race day at the start line. All registered runners receive a race shirt and a locally made finisher's medal. A post-race breakfast is provided by Great Harvest Bread. Awards are given to the top three overall male and female finishers and to the top three in various age divisions. Free race photos are available for download.
