Happy Trails Marathon : South Jordan, UT

The event offers two distances that follow the Jordan River Parkway trail out of East River Front Park in South Jordan.

  • Marathon 26.2 miles
  • Half Marathon 13.1 miles

Both courses run mostly on paved trails with short sections of sidewalk. The marathon lists a total elevation gain of +970 ft and the half marathon +221 ft. Aid stations are placed along the routes and supply water, Gatorade, Honey Stinger gels and waffles, fruit, candy, and some soda; each aid station also carries a first aid kit and Vaseline. The course is marked with pink flags, ribbons, signs, and trail marshals.

The organizer limits field sizes: the marathon cap is 150 runners and the half marathon cap is 150 runners. Registration opens October 15, 2026. Packet pickup is offered at the Sandy Salt Lake Running Store the day before the race, with same-day pickup available at the start area. Event timing uses live results and free race photos will be provided without a watermark.

Runners receive a quality race shirt and a locally made finisher medal. A post-race breakfast by Great Harvest Bread will be available. The organizer applies a 7.5 hour pace cutoff for the marathon and emphasizes marked, scenic trail routing. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
